Best Travel Council – Head South for the better in the Canarian sunshine
Europeans, especially Germans, Dutch, Scandinavians and the British tend to think of the Canary Islands, a station of winter sun. Among them, the British are probably the most common festival in the Canary Islands in summer.
In fact, it makes little difference if you point of view of what to expect weather visit. The islands have a climate Spring Open fairly constant throughout the year. However, my canary Travel Tip always remember that all islands cloudy and wet on their shores in the North or in their northern regions. This is where the trade winds of moisture their first contact with a mass of earth they fly over the Atlantic Ocean, often very violent.
The best guarantee of constant sunshine and warm weather and dry on the south coast of the island, where even the days of each mid-winter provides many opportunities for sunbathing and swimming available. It is also important to realize that the relatively strong winds occur throughout the year, if this really a burning sun of Africa feel much less intense than would be the case.
A November to Gran Canaria, I experienced a dramatic change over time. The weather forecast Yahoo heavy showers, thunderstorms and temperatures below the average for the next five days. Official Weather Forecast for Gran Canaria in Las Palmas, the capital of the island, based on the northern tip of the island. When I arrived, was the area of the airport, a few miles south of Las Palmas certainly knows a few cloudy days, but it does not rain, there actually. Looking North proposed that the sky was, indeed, that the rain on Las Palmas itself. The wind was cold and I froze in my T-shirt and shorts when I went to the airport car park where my car was waiting.
My goal was Maspalomos, on the south coast of Gran Canaria and at least 40 miles from Las Palmas. Here, the weather was sunny and hot and dry, makes me want to jump in the pool as soon as I had checked in my apartment. Throughout the duration of my stay of ten days, the weather trend continues. Cooler, cloudy, heavy showers and produce a fresh wind has dominated in the north, while I enjoyed the warm sunny days and mild nights in Maspalomas.
A not so positive experience came a few years later on the island of Lanzarote. It was the last week of March and we had a week off in Charco de Palo. The naturist remote and beautiful, on the east coast of Lanzarote, just a dozen miles from the northern tip of the island. The weather remained dry throughout the week, although rain clouds often swirl around us constantly in the strong wind. This means that whenever the clouds blocked the sun, we were immediately cooled to an uncomfortable level. Residents told us they have failed, were of such high chill, and they have demonstrated this by draping himself in thick sweaters or even bands. However, it is actually pretty hot for us in the sun when the clouds kept out of the way the sun. It was the night were very cold. Without the sun, the wind blew from the north between five and strength, force, seven, eat no other choice, a dinner inside each night.
Even if a constant cold north wind of this force is rare in the Canary Islands, February and March are often cooler weather rather than in December or January in the experiment. In this case, exposed or in areas near the northern coast to avoid the better. While most of our wind-blown week Charco de Palo, south of Lanzarote Playa Blanca appreciated much more calm and sunny circumstances. Despite what we liked Charco de Palo, and a new day, in the light of our ‘have a rel = javascript “nofollow” onclick = “pageTracker. _trackPageview (‘ / Outgoing / article_exit_link ‘)” href = ” http:// www. best-travel-tip. com “> Travel Tip a> and later this year.
